Hear that? That is the sound of me patting myself on the back. I am so witty. It will all be clear in a moment.
Clear, cool Fall mornings are perfect for gathering cattle and photography. Last weekend, our work took us to the very top of the ridge. It was a slow climb, we had to stop frequently to allow our horses to catch their breath.
As we climbed the Western slope, the sun was slowly creeping above the horizon to our East. I wish you could have joined me in watching the world wake-up.
It was the rare occasion that being a woman on a cowboy crew proved an advantage. As we reached the top of the ridge, I rode on, so the gentlemen could take a wee break. As I crested the ridge, the golden sun crested the horizon. It was breathtaking. I took a moment to capture my golden mount in the glow.
I filled with gratitude and wonder.
And then these hooligans showed up. . .
How do I know they are hooligans? Trust me on this one.
Nothing like cattle work on a crisp fall day. Great pics.
Beautiful. I sure wish I was there. I cannot wait to get back to the states for a ride!
I live in Crook Co. Wy, we have sunrises like that, they are the best on the back of a horse!
What a beautiful way to begin the day, hooligans and all.
Such a beautiful morning, thank you for sharing. I can smell that crisp air from here 🙂
Gorgeous! Like Mandy, I wish I could have joined you too. Thanks for sharing these pictures.
Beautiful photos Rachel. I do wish I could have joined you on that muster. Maybe one day??
Fabulous!
There is nothing like a rural sunrise – and a few good cowboys!
Thanks for sharing that special moment of sunrise. I know some hooligans, too! (-:
