“How we spend our days, is of course, how we spend our lives.” –Annie Dillard
The New Year is upon us, the snowy winter landscape gives the impression of a clean slate, a fresh start. I’ve foregone resolutions this year, choosing instead to focus upon the quote above. I want to fill my days and thus my life, with more moments like those that defined our holiday season.
We shared a quite holiday in our home, warmed with season’s greetings flowing steadily from the mailbox; we were able to share the wonder of our winter landscape and fun films with family. It is my sincere wish that all of you also find joy in the transition into 2013.
Tomorrow, I’ll brave the cold, working world warmed from the inside by my reflections of the golden holiday break. In theory, anyhow. Sub-freezing temperatures actually require multiple layers of clothing and mental fortitude. How do you feel about the start of a New Year?
Looking forward!
We must live on direct opposite sides of the planet. You have sub-freezing temperatures; our days are about 40 degrees C (over 100 F); but yes, I too am looking froward to 2013.
Although it was -8 F here this morning, I can’t say I envy you Mandy! Best wishes for a beautiful 2013.
